This adorable Wagner Ware Waffle Iron is a salesman sample. These were made for the traveling salesman to be able to carry his wares to rural America households that bought from the traveling salesman and not the department stores of the city. They were made to a smaller scale and exact replicas of there larger size items to make it possible for the salesman to carry these examples to demonstrate the products. By making the miniatures they were able to take a larger number of items to the housewives of America without carrying the heavier, larger ones that would have not made it possible for them to show as many items and probably saved their backs. This is made of cast iron and has a wooden handle. It is three pieces..the stand and the two part waffle iron. The handles are perfect, no breaks or splits and the cast iron is in fantastic shape. It is the cutest thing. On both sides it carries the name Wagner and says "Feb 22, 1910. Sidney, O." it is 6.5 inches from the end of the handle to the tip of the stand and 4.5 inches wide. This is an original and featured in antiques books as a true Americana Collectible. There are fakes out there so dont be fooled. This is the real deal and exactly as the books picture. I have owned this for over 30 years and it was one of the first items I bought when I starting collecting miniatures. Look read more
