This is a really nice medal and it represents service in Mexico during the Pancho Villa Campaign also known as the Punitive War. Lt. George Patton achieved early fame during this Campaign, using Armored Dodge Cars for the first known Armored vehicle attack, he also received the moniker " OLD BLOOD AND GUTS" during these conflicts. Patton personally shot and killed 3 of Villa's henchmen, strapped them on the Dodge hoods and presented them to General "Blackjack" Pershing.
