1912 Jim Thorpe vs Univ of Penn - 2 TDs 80 + 30 yd runs Description: Original clipping from the Boston Post, 1912, concerning the great Carlisle Indian legend Jim Thorpe. Thorpe scores 2 touchdowns when "on the first play (from his own 20) Thorpe got loose and run the full distance of the field for a touchdown. His speed caused him to lose all Pennsylvania tacklers." Other Thorpe mention: Shortly after this he took the ball from Pennsylvania's 30 yard line for a touchdown." "Thorpe's running with the ball was the best seen here for many a day." Long game summary and lineup with scoring results. This was Jim Thorpe's 3rd to last game as a Carlisle Indian player!! Great Thorpe collectible. This is an ORIGINAL item from the Boston Post, Nov 24, 19 12. Approx 2-1/4 x 13. All of my newspaper items are ORIGINAL. I do not sell photocopies or reprints. Overall in VG-EX condition. There may be a slight discoloration, which is very common with old newspapers. Major damage will be noted.
