A vintage beauty, this original photo was used in the 1912 Cleveland Leader newspaper to arrange a composite photograph of the entire 1912 Cleveland Naps team. All of the studio photos used for this composite featured the players' signatures, and this one is signed in 9/10 black ink by Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie, signed as "N. Lajoie." The verso bears a Feb. 21, 1913, date stamp along with several other notations including "Larry Lajoie" in blue. Measuring 2.75x5", the photo is VG with a few stains and abrasions. A pioneer during the early competition between the National League and the fledgling American League, Lajoie's popularity was so extensive that his team was named after him - the Cleveland Naps - in 1903. PSA encapsulated and graded "MINT 9" signature.
