In the next few weeks I will be putting up my entire collection of railroadiana items which will include quite a few collectible lanterns. You may want to bookmark me as a favorite seller if you are a railroadiana collector. Up for bid is a rare Hartford Street Railway Lantern. The lantern was manufactured by Adlake Reliable Mfg. Co. Patent dates on the lamp begin with 1897 and go through 1913. Of particular note with this railway lantern is the bracket (that was patented in 1911) that was used to attach the lantern to the railway itself. The lamp stands at 11 inches not including the bail handle. The base measures 7 inches in diameter. Overall I would say that the lantern is in very good condition. The top of the chimney definitely shows some use, the reamainder of the lantern is in great shape. The globe is clear glass (no writing on it) and in excellent condition--no chips dings etc. The kerosene pot also appears to be in great shape. This is a true collectible lantern that any collector would be proud to own. Feel free to email any questions. Cashiers check, money order or paypal is fine. Will probably ship Priority Mail or DHL.
