1913 portable Chautauqua Industrial art desk. Desk could be used for students unable to attend public school, in rural areas, home schooled, disabled, etc. Desk is made of oak with cubby holes for writing instruments, a work surface, a paper scroll containing 25 pages of highly informative, technical learning materials, and a period map of the US and central America. The desk is a hinged 2 section unit that can be positioned different ways. Dimensions: 22"L x 17"W x 2.5"D. The art desk is on good shape for its age. There is wear to the green writing/work surface, and to the map, which is in poor condition (some missing). The paper scroll is in very good working condition, it moves from distribution roller to receiver roller and back. There is some water staining to the first introductory title page. Expect wear to the desk, some writing by children(not much) on the scroll.6.35% sales tax added for CT residents.
