You are bidding on an original old John M. Smyth Merchandise Company catalog. It is Catalog Number 70, from 1914. The company was located on Washington Blvd. & Union St., Chicago, U.S.A., and was established in 1867. The cover picture is labelled, Dictionary of Economy for Every Home on Earth. The catalog has 998 pages. A few in the beginning have come loose from the binding, and the book was apparently stored under something heavy, as is it cockeyed. Loose pages have dog-eared edges, as well. The book shows it’s age and has stains and the pages are browned and some are well-fingered. The book measures 10 1/2 x 7 1/2”. This is a wonderful old catalog, with items for the home in every imaginable category, from tools to bicycles, clothing, utensils and some very interesting things that are no longer in use.
