Large format rarity. 1915 Boston Red Sox Leather premium from sometobacco company I would imagine. Sox were World's Champions that year.Photos are on leather with center team photo measuring 15" x 12" alone and 5 individual photos are 4". Whole leather measures 32" from corner to corner and framed to 32x34" dimensions. Cameos are of Duffy Lewis, Bill Carrigan, Dutch Leonard, Tris Speaker, and Harry Hooper. Leather has a few spots of surface loss that don't affect anything and leather all in all is very soft and supple after all these years. Lower right is missing (burned?) but only affects lower portion of Lewis' cameo and part of word "Champions". I've included a similar example photo from a Mastro auction catalog which states that less than a handful are known to exist. I assume this one has been trimmed in comparison to the one in the catalog. Unfortunately, even though he played a large part in the season, Babe Ruth is not in the team photo. Formerly of the Barry Halper Collection. I had it framed nicely which was $300 in itself. Amazing item and guaranteed old and original. Large and heavy and I reserve the right to remove the glass to ensure the safe arrival of it.
