Including Poems and Prose Sketches, Many of Which Have Not Heretofore Been Published; an Authentic Biography, an Elaborate Index and Numerous Illustrations in Color from Paintings By Howard Chandler, Christy and Ethel Franklin Betts. ames Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916) was a noted Indiana author and poet. He wrote over a thousand poems, over half in the Indiana dialect and was awarded in 1912 the National Institute of Arts and Letters, its first Gold Medal of Poetry. He is most famous for his poem 'Little Orphan Annie'. This Memorial Edition contains all his writings.
