Here is an Old Vintage Carpenters T J GARDNER - BRISTOL Dated - 1916 HARDWOOD SKEWED MOUTH MOVING FILLISTER PLOW/PLOUGH PLANE WITH THE ORIGINAL 1 1/4" Skewed Blade/iron Boxwood Reed, Nicker, Brass/steel sole adjustable depth stop & Hardwood adjustable fence with brass fittings length - 9 3/8 inch x width 2 inch x height 5 inch ( Not including the wedge)approx. SKEWED BLADE/IRON WIDTH - 1 1/4 inch approx. Plane stamped - T J GARDNER MAKER BRISTOL TJG 1916 - owner stamps An adjustable fence and depth stop allows the plane to be set to cut a rebate/rabbet of a precise depth and width. They are both fully working. The addition of the nicker in front helps the blade to cut clean when working across the grain. Condition=Plane is in vintage Used Good used Condition GREAT PATINA The Boxwood Reed is in good used condition with no splits and 1 large nibble along its edge . Sole plate adjoining the reed is in good used condition with minor tiny edge nibbles ( can only be felt) and usage scratches. Hardwood fence is in good used condition with no splits and the usual edge nibbles. There is a v shaped notch on edge closest to the blade aperture - done to aid blade iron removal. The brass depth stop/screw are in good used condition with mild age tarnishing. The brass adjustable fence is in good used condition with age tarnishing/pitting. read more
