It was made by Delbert G. Burch who was a sergeant in the Army Air Service during WW1. He was the gunner for Lt. M. J. Plumb. During the war, only Curtiss Jennys were used at this training camp. They helped train airmen to go to France. As far as I can tell he never left the US. All of his photos are original and look like that they were never published. What you are getting is the original photo, not a copy. I know of no copies being made.About Hicks Field:Hicks Field (Camp Taliaferro Field #1) is a former World War I military airfield. It operated as a training field for the Air Service , United States Army between 1917 until 1920. It was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established after the United States entry into World War I in April 1917. Today it is an industrial park with housing close by.After the United States' entry into World War I in April 1917, General John J. "Blackjack" Pershing invited the British Royal Flying Corps to establish training fields in Texas for the training of American and Canadians volunteers because of its mild weather.
