Fantastic piece of World War I WWI history in this SOUVENIR OF THE FORT BENJAMIN HARRISON TRAINING CAMP, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA HELD AUGUST 27 - NOVEMBER 26, 1917. This was a pictorial record of the second Fort Harrison training camp during WWI. The camp was to select and train officers for the war effort. Many Indianapolis businesses of the era have advertisements as sponsors of this publication. An invitation to a dinner dance to honor the commanding officers is tipped in. There is also a photograph of I assume one of the candidates in his uniform, sorry to report no name known. There are photos of the officers at the Fort, group pics of the First thru 15th Infantry Company with name lists, 1st thru 5th Battery Field Artillery with name lists, 1st and 2nd Coast Artillary with name list, lots of pics around the Fort plus pages and pages of display ads from the local business sponsors. 7 by 10.25 inches with 96 pages in stiff paper covers. Internally excellent, clean, tight, no writing, rips or tears, covers are clean, overhanging paper covers are bent over and small chips along edges. Dinner invitation is like new, photo is also clean and nice. A rare item you don't see and a perfect addition to a collection of paper from WWI.
