This is a vintage CHARLES AHRENFELDT LIMOGES FRANCE Gravy Boat. The Gravy Boat has the Rose Swag Border floral design consisting of hand painted red and yellow roses and a swag border with wonderful shades of green, brown, yellow, blue, ivory, gold and a black colored border. It also has a unique dip design on the top edge of both long sides. The gravy boat measures about 9" wide and about 3 1/2" high. The bottom reads: "FRANCE DEPOSE C. AHRENFELDT LIMOGES Pat. 3/19/18 " This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or signs of crazing. This is a gorgeous, delicate pattern with colors that seem to pop out at you...just lovely.I currently have other pieces from the same set - same pattern -on Ebay. Please check them out - I'm always glad to combine shipping and save you a few dollars. Charles AHRENFELDT (1807-94) was born in Germany. He began importing porcelain into New York City in the 1830s. During the 1840s he moved to Paris and had a decorating studio. Sometime between 1859 and the late 1860s he established an exporting firm in Limoges and developed a wide export market, especially to North America. Grob died in 1934 and was succeeded by his widow.
