1918 WWI Original USMC MARINES Article & PICS: The Last Fight. Meuse, Argonne+ This original Article was published in February, 1919 in "The Saturday Evening Post" Magazine. Written by Elizabeth Frazer. 4 Pages. There is a Photograph on the first page of a Marine with his weapon. The caption reads "Semper Fidelis! Changed Into the Vernacular Means: The First to Fight and the Last to Quit!" The other photo, on the second page, shows a group of over 100 Marines in a flying wedge form, with the U.S. flag and the U.S.M.C. flag borne proudly above. The caption reads: "To be the Spearhead of Any Enterprise - to Bear the Shock, Endure the Strain- Carries its Own Reward" The opening line of the article reads: I have seen hell, and I cannot forget it."
