The gold filigree work is exquisite and very sturdy. The setting is high and sets up about 6mm from the finger. The stone is set in a gold bezel which is wonderful for security and eliminates the age old problem of prongs catching on fabrics. The bezel is soldered to the actual setting by eight pieces of gold.
