This beautiful reverse-painted glass and metal fixture is all original and we were told is from the 1920s or 1930s. We used it as a dining room fixture but it would also make a lovely bedroom fixture. Description : Both the top and bottom pieces are thick solid glass, reverse-painted in a cream color. The two glass pieces attach through a metal ring (the metal extends inside the top) with their original 3 metal rods with screw-on balls on each end. The canopy is a bronze-copper color metal, and the chain is silver but discolored. The fixture comes complete with all the parts you need to hang it: a crossbar, the little threaded pipe that screws into the crossbar, and 2 screws for the junction box. Also included is a screw-in socket to extend the socket in case you want the light bulb to be lower in the fixture. The fixture works fine. Condition : · The glass top is in mint condition â^' no chips, cracks or marks. · The bottom part is in the same condition, with the exception of a tiny flea bit in the paint to the right of one of the holes (see close-up picture of the bottom). · The metal ring part through which the rods with balls go is not in great shape. If you look at the close-up pictures, t are scrapes in the paint and light rust. Itâe(tm)s fine as to hang as is (we did) but would look even better with a paint job. ·
