Title: 1920s Bates Mfg. Co. Arts & Crafts Industrial Telephone Directory & Lamp WORKS Description: Presented for your consideration is this interesting Bates telephone index and electric lamp. The base of the lamp has an alphabetical paper index/directory in the middle with a knob on the side to scroll through the directory. Knob is marked with "Bates Index. The Bates Mfg. Co. Patented. Orange, NJ. U.S.A." Bottom of the base is marked with "Patented June 3, 1924. August 4, 1925." The lamp portion of the directory has a hammered shade and is in WORKING condition. The lamp easily This telephone directory and lamp would make a great addition to any collection! The knob turns easily but does not move the paper directory on the front. When the knob is turned the interior roll can be heard turning and the knob stops turning after a few turns. The A and B sections have torn off of the index. Some surface scratching and minor paint wear is present throughout. Minor cosmetic wear is throughout from age and use. No dents. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Measures 3 1/2" wide, 4 1/4" deep at the base and 10 3/4" tall. Shade measures 5 1/4" square. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.
