This auction consists of the following items: 3 little wooden boxes containing radio crystals. One original paper insert has survived. "Under an arrangement with the owners of a famous Silver Lead Mine near Death Valley, California, we are the exclusive distributors of this rare mineral which is unexcelled for radio use." For use with a "cat's whisker", these three crystals were manufactured by the Pacific Radio Specialty Co. 17 South Orianna St. Philadelphia, PA. Fresh from the attic of a north Philly row house, this collection of stuff belonged to a man who ran a radio club during his years of teaching. According to his daughter, he started the wireless club with high school freshman boys sometime in the mid 1920's and this box of parts has been hidden away for years. The big picture of the large collection is included on this auction page ONLY to show the scope of the collection. Only the items mentioned in the auction title are actually for sale in this auction. The rest of the items are also being offered in several small lots running for sale at this time. I am selling (in several auctions of small lots) a collection of parts from the early days of radio. IÂ'm guessing that most of these parts date to the early to mid 1920's and many of them were manufactured right in the city of Philadelphia. Some of the items and manufacturers
