1920'S DRESSEL CROSSING GATE RAILROAD LANTERN LAMP This auction is for a1920's Dressel Crossing Gate Lantern. It comes with burner and fount. This lantern has 4" extended roundels on each side. The lantern stands approximately 10 1/2" tall. It has been repainted, has two blue ribbed Corning lenses in it which appear to be in great shape. I did not take them out to examine the outer edges though so I am only judging by what I can see without disassembling the lamp. T is a small metal plaque type piece on the side that has the words stamped into it " Dressel Railway Lamp & Signal Company Arlington N.J. USA". The fount is also marked Dressel Arlington N.J. T is not a chimney. T are a couple small dings and scuffs. The inside rail that you slide the fount in on is slightly bent (see photo), but the fount slides in and out just fine. The finish feels rough under the paint. I do not know if that means anything, I just wanted to note that. The burner is somewhat loose and is not as nice as some I have seen. The font is in great shape. See photos. The two black circles on the bottom of the font is w someone painted the lamp with the font inside and it is paint that sprayed inside the bottom holes.
