Fine German Nova-Brunsviga Calculator Mod. IV. Made in the 1920s. In Perfect Working Order This nice vintage calculator is a Nova-Brunsviga Model IV, made in the 1920s and in excellent working order. The calculator keeps its mechanism in perfect condition and can be used to perform arithmetic operations with full reliability. The mechanism provides a fluid and soft operation, and in essence the machine is a charming functional item. With solid black-enameled iron frame and white and turquoise numbers, this lovely calculating machine’s design is as decorative as practical. Brunsviga calculators were produced and marketed from 1892 by German company Grimme, Natalis & Co., located in Braunschweig. It was then when the firm acquired the patents for Odhner calculator and started producing their own models. Brunsviga is the latin name for Braunschweig, the city where the factory was located. The firm was named Brunsviga Maschinenwerke AG in 1927 and for decades it was considered a paradigm of excellence in the manufacturing of arithmometers. In 1959 the company was merged with another well-known company in the calculating machines industry, the Olympia Werke AG from Wilhelmshaven. This interesting piece is in good condition, though the black enamel that covers the iron frame shows some slight signs of wear due to the trace of time and read more
