Up for sale is a wonderful 1920's era, Ludwig Solid Mahogany snare drum with Bird's Eye Maple reinforcement hoops. This drum is a 5x14", 8 lug drum with no extra holes or structural issues. Great in round drum that tunes up beautifully. This drum was an estate find that was taken apart and gently cleaned and set up to be a recording drum. Drum looks to be all original except heads, snare wires tension rods and snare chord. I did install reproduction nickel over brass hoop clips to preserve the original clips, but the drum will include the originals as well. The P-338 throw-off and butt-plate are original and 100% functional. A new set of Evans drumheads has been installed as well as a brand new set of Puresound snare wires and Ludwig snare chord. For all my 20's restorations, I like to add Ludwig fiber gaskets under the lugs to protect the shell and more properly align the tension rods into the lugs. This one is ready to play and sounds as good as it looks. Drum will be carefully packaged and insured. Additional shipping services can be added after purchase if needed. 100% feedback.
