Up for auction is this great find - a primitive wooden dough bowl from the Munising Woodenware Company of Munising, Michigan. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 - 1955 and produced many spectacular wooden products such as these dough bowls. The bowl is made from premium Michigan sugar maple. It measures approximately 10 1/4" across and it is slightly off round. According to my research, this particular bowl is the earliest marked example of Munising products - the block lettering with the larger capital "M" - and it dates to the 1920's. It is in excellent condition with no cracking or splitting. I've seen alot of Munising dough bowls, but this is the only one I've ever seen with this early block lettering. Quite a collectible!
