I am liquidating some of my Vintage Kimono CollectionThis is an incredible 1920-30s " Lingerie Kimono" - meaning it is light weight and delicate and meant to wear in the boudoir. The body is made in an ivory silk. The elaborate peacock design is all hand sewn with a couching method. Most of the design is in metallic gold thread. The amount of handstitching work that went into this design is MIND BLOWING!There are beautiful embroidered flowers as well. The peacock and flowers are in excellent condition. The silk body of the kimono does have some staining and a few spots. There are 2 small holes (about the size of the tip of a Q-tip) they are not noticeable. There are no rips or tears. There is a mend on the neckline. Overall the material is strong. The kimono was cleaned and there are no smells.I do believe the lining has been replaced. It is a lovely orange/red color. The material is silk and seems to be very strong. This kimono is around 90 years old. It is not 100% original because of the replaced lining, but it is still a stunning and incredible piece. A real wearable piece of textile history. The pictures of the kimono are on a size 8 mannequin. This is a smaller kimono best for someone size 2 through 10.The dimensions are 50 length, 54 inches width (all the way around i.e. end to end), sleeves 18 inches lengthUPDATE: There is a similar read more
