The printers block is from the estate of a collector. Several of the printing blocks have the name "Richmond & Sons" scribbled in pencil on the side and one block in particular had the address of Richmond & Sons, 2926 N. Broadway, Los Angeles,California which leads me to believe they were the actual printers who were commissioned to use these blocks in their various print jobs. One print block was a calendar from April 1924 which provides an approximate date for many of the blocks in this collection. Some printers blocks are of course much much older. I am not an expert on printers block, but I am told this particular block is electrotype copper face. Others I will be selling may be of zinc or some other grey alloy. I am not 100% in the exact identification of the alloy or metal that is mounted to the wood block. The printers blocks are old and used and are being sold "as is" and "as found." I have not done any cleaning or repairs on the blocks for sale.
