We present to you for your consideration this 1920's Wrought Iron Reading Lamp - like as featured in 1920-1930's Gimbel Bros. New York / Philadelphia Cataloque??? with Two (2) Benjamin Pull Chain Lamp Sockets. This Wrought Lamp was brought to us just recently by a picker friend of ours that attended an estate auction of a deceased collector of some 80 years plus whose collection of lamps was quite extensive. Among the items purchased was this Wrought Iron Reading Lamp Decorated in Black with Burnished Gold with light traces of Italian Red and Blue Flowers. Starting at the top you have Dual Benjamin Pull Chain Lamp Sockets (see photo 1, 2 & 3) that will need re-wired before use. Next, going down the rounded column, you come to a grouping of three flowers situated in an eight leafed bowl (see photo 1 & 3). Below this grouping the main shaft or column becomes a six sided column of lightly burnished and decorated brass (see photo 5). This column flows into another inverted leafed bowl of eight leaves and three Italian painted flowers. Below this gathering the column or lamp shaft ends and spreads into Three Legs encircled with a wrought iron band (see photos 6, 7, & 8) This Reading Lamp will need a period shade to make it complete or a bare wire "steampunk" shade with the addition of Two Edison Reproduction Squirrel Cage Light Bulbs read more
