1922 American Locomotive Ad: Virginian Railway 2-10-10-2 Magazine Advertisement Description Ad Caption: "Showing the Way - On May 26th, on the Virginian Railway, Engine 808, unassisted, hauled 17,600 tons over a long two-tenths of one per cent grade without difficulty. So far as is known, this represents the largest tonnage ever hauled by one locomotive". Source: Railway Age Magazine (April 8, 1922) Condition: Ad is in excellent condition. Ads may show some discoloration due to age and quality of paper. Any yellow tint is a result of our scanning process and not with the ad. Also some scans may show a dark or color (pink) line at bottom, this is from the scan process and not on the ad page. Some ads are larger then our scanner, and may appear cropped down.
