My childhood windup 'steam' locomotive still works and runs around the track. The Ives windup clockwork motor is marked Pat. April 4, 1911 with a manufacturer's date-stamp of 1922. It comes with an interesting brass windup key that has a small screwdriver on the other end. I cannot find a brake to hold the spring-work after winding, maybe it never had one. The cast iron cab is unmarked, but I believe it is a Joyline / Marx and it fits nicely with the Ives clockworks motor. Ives was a major competitor of Lionel. My handsome, handmade track display is included with the engine. Aye, Allen
