Contents: in the land we call Korea, some Korean scenes and customs, Japanese and missionaries in Korea, off the beaten track in Cho-sen, up and down Manchuria, through Russianized China, speeding along the Gobi, in "red" Mongolia, holy Urga, every one his own diplomat, at home under the Tartar wall, jogging about Peking, a journey to Jehol, a jaunt into peaceful Shansi, rambles in the province of Confucius, itinerating in Shantung, eastward to Tsingtao, in bandit-ridden Honan, westward through loess canons, on to Sian-fu, onward through Shensi, China's far west, where the fish wagged his tail, in Mohammedan China, trailing the Yellow River homeward, completing the circle. Profusely illustrated with 57 vintage black and white photographs. Hardcover, with maps on the endpapers. 502 pages. Good condition, but cover partially faded/discolored.
