1924 Horace Hutchinson Handwritten Signed Letter to JH Taylor. Horace Hutchinson was one of Britain's early stars, winning the British Amateur in its second and third years, 1886 and 1887. He became an esteemed author and wrote this touching letter to JH Taylor while confined to his bedroom. On his own letterhead, Hutchinson begins, "My dear Taylor, I must write you a line of the heartiest congratulations" and continues to compliment him on his play in the 1924 Open Championship at age 53. Hutchinson begs forgiveness for writing in pencil before signing off, "Always yours old friend, Horace S. Hutchinson." Letter is written on both sides of a single page, with all pencil as strong as the day of application. Letter is folded into quarters for mailing with no other flaws.
