This auction is for a 1925 $20 St. Gaudens Gold Double Eagle coin - Coin is NGC graded MS-63. As expected, for a quality NGC graded coin, features include: brilliant appearance with no wear, a nice strike with sharp feature definition, brilliant lustrous surfaces, bright rich gold color, and eye-clean appearance with only minimal nicks/bag marks found under loupe exam. This is a beautiful coin from a popular coin series that always draws high interest with both collectors and investors. Older certified coins, such as the coin for auction here, have soared in demand and value over the past few years. Auction houses and private collectors can not find enough supply of coins like this to satisfy current demand. Although these coins typically sell well above 'spot' gold price, the 'investment value', collectability, and rareness of quality NGC MS gold coins make them well worth their higher price. {Note the 'Product Guide' information above is from Ebay and shows a 1924 St. Gaudens Double Eagle.
