LF01 Offered is an approximately 6-1/2"x8-1/2" vintage original news photo of Guy Cantrell, pictured in his Brooklyn Robins uniform circa spring of 1925. Along with various editorial markings (in nicely scripted fountain pen), the verso bears teh stamping of both International News and The Sporting News as well as a sticker identifying this photo as proceding from the archives of that long-running publication. The photo does appear to be a Type 1 photo, though it lacks any kind of date-stamping that would permit a definitive determination. See scans for further details including condition.Guy Dewey Cantrell (Gunner) was born in Clarita, OK and died in 1961 in McAlester, OK. He played major league baseball from 1925 to 1930 as pitcher for the Brooklyn Robins, Philadelphia Athletics and the Detroit Tigers.
