What a great find. This item was discovered as a result of the flood in Indiana. This item is from a grocery store that operated in the early 1900's through the 1930's. Most everything from the store was stored in the basement of a home with thousands of items destroyed because of the flood. Many paper items that we are now trying to restore. This tin sign is dated 1926 and was made by the American Art Works, Inc. out of Coshocton, Ohio. Those words are very plain to see using your magnifying glass on your computer. The people that had this item tried to clean it and didn't do a very good job. I have not touched it. It looks to me like someone that knows could clean it real good. It still would not be mint. I don't know what the white part is on the head. Could possibly be cleaned off or it could be permanent. Much of the gold is still on the edge of the tin and it looks to me like most of it can be restored with a good professional cleaning. The tin is around 7 1/2 inches by around 11 inches. Examining the tin closer makes me believe that it really could be a good item once the crap is cleaned off of it. The white part on the picture I cannot guarantee. No physical damage to the tin. T are a few flakes on the C of coca that look to be permanent. You are buying this item as I have described it. Be sure to examine it closely. Check read more
