ANTIQUE - 1928 - LUX - FIGURAL CLOWN - SYROCO WOOD - NOVELTY SHELF CLOCK - FRESH FROM AN ESTATE!! - This auction is for a RARE & HARD TO FIND novelty shelf clock made by the Lux Clock Company, circa 1928 - He is known by "CLOWN", "BELLY" or "TUMMY" - The Syrocowood clown stands 7" high x 3 1/2" wide - He stands on a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" base - It has a fancy ornate dial - It is fitted with tiny black metal hands - The little clown has a 30 hour, wind up, balance wheel, time only, movement by Lux fitted in his tummy - Stamped on the movement cover it reads: "LUX CLOCK MFG. CO. - WATERBURY, CONN. - U.S.A." - It has it's original hand setter and winder knobs - It is in excellent running order and the hands advance correctly - However, since it is an antique, it is being sold with no warranty or guarantee - In addition, since it is a novelty clock, I can not guarantee accuracy - It is in excellent overall condition with no chips or cracks in the Syrocowood - He has his original paint - There is some edge wear & tiny chips in the paint and the paint on his face has some crazing, which is to be expected from a piece 83 years old - Barely noticeable and certainly does not take away from this rare and hard to find piece - Selling "as is" - Fabulous addition to your antique novelty clock, antique Lux, antique clown or antique Syrocowood collection read more
