1928-S U.S. SILVER PEACE DOLLAR This auction is for an uncommon and very well preserved 1928 U.S. (San Francisco Mint) Silver Peace Dollar Coin . [ KM# 150 ] This is a terrific opportunity for collectors as this coin has been well preserved and features strong display of raised detail elements and overall presentation, with attractive appearance and blazing, lustrous surfaces! These 1928 San Francisco Mint Silver Peace Dollars are particularly uncommon in high grades and this coin is no exception, as it has been slabbed, graded and CERTIFIED as ABOUT UNCIRCULATED FIFTY-EIGHT (AU 58) by NGC . [ Certification Number: 4213643-006 ] Buyers and Bidders can proceed confidently knowing that this coin displays overall ABOUT UNCIRCULATED details, appearance and presentation, with notable and attractive design elements and display. Very few of these 1928-S Silver Peace Dollar coins have been preserved, graded and certified by NGC in AU-58 conditions or better. This fantastic coin should make for an excellent addition to any growing collection! Coin shows overall strong detail and design elements, with wide array of small detail evident on both sides of the coin. Obverse bust, facing left, shows notable definition within the hair, with most hair curls and lines separated and distinct and excellent separation between the hair curls and the crown. Bust shows strong facial characteristics with no significant wearing evident and only light to minor scratch markings evident along the cheek. Reverse eagle shows most feather lines clear and defined, with fairly strong eye and beak visible. Overall, raised detail elements show only minor wearing or dulling of the more raised portions of detail and design. Both surfaces show an overall white appearance, with some very faint hints of auburn toning evident on either side. Coin shows large amounts of remaining luster still present! Both surfaces show minor (and generally infrequent) scratch, contact or bag markings visible with again, strong available luster. Raised rim edge shows only light, if any, visible wearing or dulling of the raised edge with only faint (and infrequent) scratch or contact markings and infrequent minor nicks and distractions, with no significant dents, abrasions, or misshaping visible. Coin is .900 Silver, with a weight of 26.73 Grams and a diameter of 38.1mm. Designer was Anthony de Francisci. Mintage was 1,632,000--but of those coins, only a few have been slabbed, graded and certified as AU-58 or better by the NGC. Coin has remained sealed within the NGC plastic holder.
