Antique STERLING SILVER AND ENAMEL COMPACT (with chain and ring finger and lipstick holder) Marked R & G co. created by Ripley & Gowen most likely in the early 1930's. Excellent used condition, with no loss to Sterling or to the enamel and sweet pink roses and pretty green enamel that graces the top of it. The enamel is repeated on two discs of the chain (which is about 4") There's a rouge holder with puff inside, as well as a powder and with the puff) and also a mirror. It measures 2 inches across, and the height is approx. 1/4". Hinge is tight and intact. It opens with a catch and in excellent working order. SWEET OLD PIECE FROM R & G.or Ripley & Gowen, a Attleboro, MA Co. who made many of these compacts in the early 30's. They are known for their high quality. Check out my other items !
