This newspaper contains a bold banner headline anouncing that the PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS have defeated the St Louis Cardinals to win the 1930 baseball World Series . GREAT display newspaper for a baseball collector, especially one from Philadelphia, PA. In the 1930 World Series , the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in six games, 4–2. The 1930 Series victory was the Athletics' fifth (including 1910 , 1911 , 1913 , and 1929 ) and final in Philadelphia until moving to Kansas City and later Oakland, where the A's have won four titles.
