This 1930's Air Castle desk top wooden radio, is in a condition that with a little time and effort could lead to a nice radio to add to your collection. The radio has all of its knobs and push buttons. The veneer is intact and appears to be in good condition. The dry lettering is somewhat legible in the areas below the push button. The dial is in wonderful condition and can be adjusted freely with the touch of a hand, the push button selector operates in the same manner. The box and deck appear to be intact and it has a plate on the rear of the radio that may lead to the model number. T is no rear cardboard cover. I have researched extensively and I cannot find anything on this rare beauty. This radio was manufactured by the Spiegel Inc, Chicago, Illinois and was marketed under several other names including Supersonic, Continental or together as Aircastle. Since this radio was produced in the 1930's I did not attempt to plug in the radio. The radio, tubes, speaker or any accessories are untested, I felt that it was in the best interest of the person restoring the radio to not have to clean up a mess in the deck. All equipment is sold as-is . S&H or Insurance are not included in this auction. Winning bidder pays all fees associated with the shipping, handling and insurance of this radio.
