offered is a very nice art deco early 1930's kaschie pocket petrol automatic lighter. the lighter features a fantastic modernistic stripe "V" machine engine turned design on both sides. the side is marked kaschie germany with a french tax stamp on the back bottom edge-[lighter was retailed in france]. i have shown the 1931 uk utility patent as this model was patented in numerous countries besides germany. the mechanism is a side long bar press first invented in 1927 by karl schieder of nuremburg germany. this version long bar side press was an improvement to the 1927 model. schieder - the owner of kaschie was an important inventor of automatic lighters with many exported to france - uk and usa. kaschie lighters are written up on 22 pages of the "neues uber alte feuerzeuge" lighter book as kaschie is one of the most important german lighter mannufacturers of the 20th century. the lighter measures about 1-3/4" tall x 2-1/4" wide x-1/2" deep and is in good to very good used condition. the chrome body is in good condition with some minor brassing and dirt spots. the art deco engine turned pattern looks better in person. the mechanism operates correctly but untested with fuel and flint. the lighter should work with proper service. overall - a important 1930's art deco kaschie automatic pocket lighter for your collection. this is one of read more
