This rod is in excellent overall original condition and has seen very good care. All three sections and extra tip are full length and measure 35-1/4 inches long. The assembled rod is 8 foot 7 inches. Hardware could be (not sure) all original except the second stripper guide. Snake guides are the reverse style. First stripper guide has an agate insert. The two tip sections have one agate insert and one perfection type tip tops. The excellent guide wraps are green with red border winds. Intermediate green wraps and fancy additional guide wraps make this a very lovely rod. Ferrules are all good. They fit together snuggly and are properly attached to the blank with no looseness while flexing. Finish is good and obviously redone. T are a few runs. Bag marks are present and probably could be polished out if desired. Reel seat has down locking metal screw band, curled top and black Bakelite insert. Featherlight and double diamond decals are both present and complete. Diamond decal reads “Horrocks-Ibbotson Co. Makers of Fishing Tackle, Utica, N.Y.” Cork grip is clean, in good condition without cork ridging. A small cork chip is missing near the winding check. Circular h ook keeper is present.
