For your consideration I have an antique National Tomb Company Salesmans Sample manufactured by the National Grave Vault Co.-Gallon, Ohio This particular piece came out of an old funeral home that was being renovated in IndianaIt has a worm gear and once had a motor, the motor is missing but could be restored. The idea was that this casket had a complete seal and would be lowered into the glass base that was filled with water, when it came back up it was opened and the contents were still dry The base is wood but also had some kind of textured coating on it, perhaps gessoThe decoration from the casket is no longer attached but it is all there This unit can manually be lowered and raised as you can see from the picture, but some of the cables need to be reattached and the motor is missingNone the less, very collectible old piece of funeral history Other models were made on bases this particular one has a very low serial number of 661 patent applied for Other models can be seen at a Mortuary Museum /FuneralMuseum.php and at /item/5732372 ended auction This piece is heavy and will be packaged well before shipped, actual shipping charges will apply. I will add more detail about size but the shipping weight is aproximately 45 lbs All sales are final, no returns on this itemPlease ask questions, if you would like more pictures, read more
