1930s Original Advertising Poster Eat Burch's Best Pop Corn Popcorn 13.5" x 20.5" This lithographed poster is in very good condition, and has been folded into eight. See the pic of the back, also, you can see the impression of the colors laid on. I do not think this was ever used, I found this one and a related poster, see my other auction, and they were just carefully in a box. THE COLOR CHANGE AT AN ANGLE IS FROM THE LIGHTING - THE POSTER IS EVENLY COLORED! I am guessing it is from the 30s because it is a lithograph, the color seems right, and the feel of it. The history from the Popcorn Museum webpage copied below suggests that the Burch name was in use from 1922 to 1940. Burch and Manley: Around 1922, JR Burch started producing popcorn machines under the name Burch Manufacturing Company. Six months later, Charles T. Manley joined him and they formed the Burch Manufacturing and Sales Company. They separated in less than 12 months. Burch went to St. Louis and started the Star Manufacturing Company. It wasn't until 1940 that Manley changed the name of the original company to Manley, Inc. When Burch started the Star Manufacturing Company, the product was on the low end of the quality and price line.
