No pinball machine collection is complete unless it has one of the first pinball machines ever made. Production started in 1931, this is the machine that 'built' the Bally corporation. Dick Bueschel's book "Pinball 1" says the inventors of this game walked into the offices of a Chicago company called Midwest Novelty Manufacturing, who decided to name it "Ballyhoo" after a popular humor magazine of the time, and nearly 75,000 machines later, the company adopted the name Bally as it's own. The game is very simple, seven balls for a penny, pull the plunger to release the balls. If one lands in the "Bally Hole" in the top center, it doubles the score of the entire board. Another hole says "free play", and the ball may be played again if it falls in that hole. This machine works, and has its original finishes that show plenty of age. The trim strip that goes along the back edge to hold the glass in, is missing and has been replaced with a different piece of wood. The coin slide works, and the balls are included. Bid now on this great milestone, very early pinball machine.
