Vintage 1931 handwritten travel diary. "My American Travels" , a boxed journal book gifted to a friend before her departure. The diary belonged to a young girl and it chronicles her trip from New Jersey to San Francisco on the Dollar Steam Ship Line. She traveled on the S.S. President Hayes in July and August of 1931. The travel itinerary included Jersey City, Havana, Balboa, Panama City, Los Angeles, Hollywood, and San Francisco. She continued by train to Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs, where the entries stop. Her travel diary features 50 hand written pages about her travels. Additionally, there are a few pages containing autographs from the ships captain and signatures from her fellow travelers. There is also a printed section at the beginning of the book about how to travel, what to bring, where to go, and what to see. In the back of the book is a section for addresses, and 12 pages of maps. This little journal is in very good condition, with the original pencil and box it came in. The owner's handwriting is legible and easy to read. Soft green leather cover, measures 4 1/8" x 6 5/8". PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION ! Thank you for looking...
