For auction is this Emil von Sauer autographed letter, dated 1932, sent to Florizel Von Reuter and from Reuter’s personal estate.Reuter was an American-born child prodigy violinist and composer. He also authored seven books. Sauer was a German composer, pianist, score editor, and music (piano) teacher. He was a pupil of Franz Liszt and one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation.As a child and for much of his adult life, Reuter traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe playing in the company of royalty and noblepersons and enjoying fellowship with various composers, conductors, violinists, pianists, singers and actors all the while personally securing the autographs of those he met—including this autograph by Sauer. His fascinating bookGreat People I Have Knowndetails the meetings he had with many famous people.The paper on which is this autograph letter measures 6 7/8” wide x 8 13/16”, and is in good condition noting one small area with cello tape residue and a tear at the edge of the vertical fold line.
