Early copy of the famed Michelin guide to the Loire Valley Guides Michelin Regionaux: Chateaux de la Loire [Michelin Guide: Chateaux of the Loire]. Clermont-Ferrand, France: Michelin et Cie. Fabricants de Pneumatiques, 1932. Pictorial red cloth, 8 x 5 in., two ribbon markers, 232 pages, illustrated. Light wear to covers (mainly at extremities), otherwise clean and fine. In French. An early edition of this legendary travellers' guide, filled with detailed descriptions, maps, and illustrations of the various sites and attractions throughout the Loire Valley, including towns, chateaux, cathedrals, and the like. Also included is information on the region's famous cuisine, wines, culture, architecture, and more. The cover features an image of Michelin's famous mascot, Bibendum, enjoying a glass of wine.
