1934 Chicago Black Hawks Photo Celebrating Stanley Cup Championship 1934 Chicago Black Hawks photo - This is a terrific original photo of Chicago Black Hawks owner Maj. Frederic McLaughlin and Hawks players celebrating their Stanley Cup Championship in 1934. The photo has the Chicago Daily News stamp on the back, along with a newspaper caption pasted on the back and a date stamp of April 11, 1934 (there are also several other date stamps on the back and two notes about the photo written in ink. It's an oversized photo, measuring approximately 11" x 7 3/4". There are crop marks on the front of the photo and some editor's touch-up ink obscuring the faces of two of the players on the left and right of the crop marks. Others pictured in the photo include coach Tom Gorman, Chuck Gardiner, Mush March, Doc Romnes, Roger Jenkins and Johnny Gottselig. The Hawks captured the Cup in dramatic fashion, beating the Red Wings in double overtime of the final game, 1-0. The photo is in very good condition, with a bend on the bottom left corner and some light surface creasing.
