Very interesting Karl Lewis cover franked with (3) different Japan definitive stamps cancelled with two red Mt. Fuji Summit Post Office, Aug 8 1935, postmarks, depicting the "Peerless Mountain" with hikers in foreground, printed legend reading "This cover was mailed at the Summit Post Office on Mount Fuji, "Fujiyama" ... 12,365 feet high," lovely watercolor painting of Fuji at left with traditional Japanese building in foreground, to U.S.A. Karl Lewis was an American who settled in Yokohama, Japan around the turn of the 20th century. He first sold souvenir photos and post cards from his shop and in the 1930s began selling these hand painted covers to clients all over the world.
