2 February 1935. Madison Square Garden, New York. 28th Indoor Games Millrose Athletic Association. Large size program 80 pages. Good condition, COMPLETE, separated covers, spine is very ragged, paper loss nicks and tears on the margins, large paper loss lower right corner of front cover (1.5x0.7 inches), excessive wear overall but still good condtion. The Millrose Games were the biggest invitational meet in all of Indoor Track and Field Athletics. 1935 winners from an array of stars were: Chuck Hornbostel (Indiana) 1:11.3 record for 600 yards barely ahead of Jumbo Elliott (Villanova), Cornelius Johnson (Compton Junior College) 6 feet 7 1/2 inches High Jump, Keith Brown (Yale) 14 feet 1 inch Pole Vault, Ray Sears (Butler) Two miles and Holy Cross mile relay. Jesse Owens (Ohio State) won the 60 yards dash in 6.3 seconds from emerging Black stars Eulace Peacock (Temple) and Ben Johnson (Columbia). The featured Wanamaker Mile was a Glenn Cunningham 4:11.0 victory, 6 yards ahead of Gene Venzke (Pennsylvania) and Bill Bonthron (Princeton). The Mile race reached American homes across the nation by CBS radio broadcast. At the microphone was the famous Ted Husing. Program rather in rugged shape but nevertheless a fine historic souvenir.
