1937 Van Briggle Lady of the Lake With Turtle Flower Frog Up for auction is a 1937 maroon with green Van Briggle Lady of the Lake centerpiece with a turtle flower frog. Measuring 4½” x 5” the turtle flower frog is in wonderful condition without chips, cracks, or crazing. The bottom is marked with the rounded mountain Van Briggle logo, Van Briggle, Colo Spgs, and what looks like a 37. The “ggs” and the “p” are elongated on both pieces. One circular hole on the bottom was made so close to the center hole that during firing the hole merged with the center. The centerpiece needs to be restored. Please look at photos: 1” x ½” chip in the rim and a 1” hairline crack in the rim. The inside bottom of the centerpiece had floral clay to keep the frog in place.
