1938 CHINESE BI-LINGUAL MAP of SUMMER PALACE (I HO YUAN) BEIJING PEKING, CHINA Title: Map of I Ho Yuan Description: This is a rare and fascinating 1938 bi-lingual map of I Ho Yuan or Yi He Yuan or the Summer Palace of the Yuan Dynasty, northwest of Beijing or Peking, China. This plan, issued by the Chinese, offers great detail, noting roads, ponds, trees, wells, temples, foundations, wall and other structural details. Two inset maps, including a conspective map are included in the lower left quadrant. Originally meant for a Yuan Dynasty monastery, the site became an imperial garden in the 18th century. After the 1911 revolution, it was converted into a park and declared a UNESCO� World Heritage Site in 1998. Issued to a scale of 1:2000. All text is in Chinese and English.
